I was losing a good 80% of what every conversation gave me.

A while back I set myself a challenge: learn Chinese on my own. No teacher, no classes. I started going to a French-Chinese exchange in my city, and talking to real people taught me far more than any lesson ever did.

But you can't ask someone to stop while you note down everything you want to remember. So you nod, you keep talking, and by the end of the night most of it is gone. That was a gap worth fixing.

Can I study my flashcards inside Pepitt?+
Yes. Pepitt has a built-in study mode with spaced repetition: the cards you keep get scheduled automatically, and you review them right in the app. Prefer Anki? Push them to your decks with one tap, both work side by side.
What languages are supported?+
Pepitt handles 60+ languages for both transcription and read-along translation, and detects the spoken language automatically. Mandarin gets pinyin above the text, Japanese furigana or rōmaji, Arabic harakat or Latin letters, free on every plan. Arabic readings are marked experimental, since short vowels have to be inferred. The app's own interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Bulgarian, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese.
What's the difference between the plans?+
Lite is free: 60 minutes of transcription and 60 notes a month. Recording length and imports are unlimited on every plan, the free one included. Paid plans unlock the premium features (read-along translation, YouTube imports) with a much bigger monthly budget. Plus suits most learners with 20 hours a month, Gold gives extra headroom at 30 hours, and Unlimited removes the monthly cap entirely. Paid plans also keep your recordings in online sync (2 GB on Plus, 5 GB on Gold, 50 GB on Unlimited); on Lite your audio stays on your device.
Are my conversations private?+
Your conversations are yours. Recordings are processed only on French and European servers. On the free plan they're kept up to 30 days for quote playback in your notes, then permanently deleted; on paid plans they stay synced while you’re subscribed. We never sell or share your data, and you can export or delete everything from Settings.
Can I decide to keep my data only on my device?+
Yes. Online sync is optional on every plan: one switch in Settings turns it off, and your recordings are kept on your device only instead of in cloud storage. Flip it back on whenever you like; paid plans then keep your audio synced (2 GB on Plus, 5 GB on Gold, 50 GB on Unlimited).
Do I need an account to use Pepitt?+
No. Open the app, tap Get started, and you're in: record, transcribe and get your notes as a guest, no account, no email. The guest allowance is one-time, though. Creating a free account keeps everything you made, refills your allowance every month and unlocks your 30-day gift. Until then your notes live only on your phone, so create your account before switching devices.
Which exports are included?+
Every export is free on every plan: push flashcards straight to Anki, send notes to Apple Notes or Google Keep, or export a PDF, Markdown (with an in-app editor), plain text or the full transcript. Share any export to Notion, Obsidian or anywhere via the share sheet.
How does the Anki integration work?+
You log in with your AnkiWeb credentials inside the app. We never store your password. Only a secure token lives locally on your device, so Pepitt can push flashcards straight to your decks.
